A supremely well preserved example of the last of the iconic shaped 911's in manual and rwd specification.
A supremely well preserved example of the last of the iconic shaped 911's in manual and rwd specification.
With original delivery to SVM and an unblemished history catalogue (including a complete engine rebuild at Autohaus Hamilton some 30000km ago), this timeless example in Diamond Blue Metallic is being released from a select collection of Porsches to make way for a new entry. Considered by some to be the peak of aircooled development, featuring the largest iteration of flat six engine (3.6) made available to road going 911's, along with the timeless view of wing turrets that frame the drivers view of the road ahead, the 964 C2 has long been sought after as a drivers car through the decades. Being released in very small numbers due to global conditions in the 90's and with many have served as donor vehicles to Singer/similar restomods, a clean 964 manual C2 is now one of the hardest of 911's to locate.
This example presents with perfect providence, including a detailed history file of servicing (Autocoupe in Melbourne and Autohaus Hamilton in Sydney with last owner) and a complete engine rebuild by Autohaus Hamilton prior to the current owner's custodianship. With perfect paint and a wonderfully preserved interior, there is absolutely nothing for the next owner to do other than to enjoy one of the finest machines to ever leave the gates of Porsche at Zuffenhausen, knowing it has been in the care of experts its entire life.
With only 3 owners the ownership history as follows: Original owner purchased from Porsche 1990 Second owner purchased from York Motors in 1997 with 30000km Current owner purchased from Autohaus Hamilton in 2017
Throughout it's ownership period it has had extensive time and money invested including all major systems (suspension, air conditioning, engine, steering and every service interval has been attended to and recorded in a 6 page summary document. Most recently in the car of AutoCoupe the next custodian will be the beneficiary of the time and attention directed towards this vehicle to date.
The major feature of any aircooled 911 is the magnificent engine located right behind the driver and a 964 features an optimal development consisting of a 3.6 litre engine, with functional air condition and (in this case) Auto Speed Control. With eight way adjustable seats this is a timeless classic that can still be driven to client meetings or on a night out with the driver exiting the vehicle in cool and composed condition (unlike earlier versions that required a more tolerant approach to passenger comfort and temperature).
When shopping for an historic 911, one would look for an unmolested, well serviced and well cared for example of its type. With the only alteration to this vehicle being a suitable Blaupunkt Bremen SQ head unit, this example ticks all the boxes for driver enjoyment, as it is, along with investment potential off a very small number of production vehicles.
